The Friends of the Garrett Jacobs Mansion is the membership, cultural and educational arm of the Garrett Jacobs Mansion Endowment Fund.
The Garrett Jacobs Mansion provides a remarkable window to Baltimore’s past, revealing otherwise forgotten worlds to its present-day visitor. The public is invited to join the Friends of the Garrett Jacobs Mansion to share the delight of the history of the Mansion, Mt. Vernon Place and Baltimore’s Golden Age. Programming offered by the Friends includes tours, lectures, interpretive and educational activities, and explores the range and diversity of Baltimore history in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Like other large American cities, Baltimore’s Golden Age was the era of no income tax and little sense of social conscience. Born in 1851, Mary Sloan Frick lived in that “age,” the daughter of a wealthy attorney and his wife, one of three children.
